Fall League Rules

Teams are designed to represent high school / feeder system programs.

Players should generally attend the same school district or feed into the same high school that their team represents.

HOW CIBA School LEAGUES WORK

School / Feeder

Team Requirements

Line graph showing revenue growth over three years, with revenue increasing each year.

Competitive Divisions

Teams compete in Division 1, 2, or 3 (when numbers allow) within their grade level.

Placement is determined by coaches preference, as well as past performance, school size, etc.

GAME FORMAT

  • Four (4) 6-Minute Quarters

  • 3 Minute Halftime

  • Scheduled Game Time is Game Time

  • Minimum Warm Up Time Will Be Provided When Prior Game Runs Over

  • 10 Minute Grace Period Before Forfeit

TIMEOUTS & OVERTIME

  • Four (4) Total Timeouts per Game

  • Two (2) 30 Second Timeouts per Half

  • No Timeout Carryovers

  • One (1) 2 Minute Overtime Period

  • Sudden Death if Still Tied After Overtime

GAME MANAGEMENT

  • No Full Court Press When Leading by 20+ Points

  • Running Clock in 4th Quarter when leading by 20+ Points

  • Team Jerseys Must be Worn

Regular Season + Tournament

2 Games per Week for 5 Weeks = 10 Regular Season Games.

Followed by a 1 day, single-elimination tournament.

Teams are grouped into different brackets within their division based on regular season performance.

Payment must be received for each team in order to be eligible in league tournaments.

    • 2nd & 3rd Grade

      • Free throws are shot from 12 feet

      • Players may jump over the line, but must begin the shot from behind the designated line

      • Must play man-to-man defense

      • No intentional zone defense

      • No double teams or traps outside the paint

      • No press for most of the game

      • During the last 3 minutes, teams may press man-to-man only

      • No double teams or zones during that press period

    • Free throws are shot from the normal 15-foot line

    • Players may jump over the line, but must begin behind it - Cannot be the first to rebound

    • 10-foot goals

    • Man-to-man defense required

    • No intentional zones

    • No double teams or traps outside the paint

    • No press until the last 3 minutes

    • Last 3 minutes: man-to-man press only, no double teams or zones

Each Coach / Program Director must agree to the CIBA TEAM PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT before Registering their Team(s).

Schedules Released Together

The complete regular season is released altogether at one time about a week before the first games take place.

You can also see potential brackets for each division for the single elimination tournament.
